  • Dr. J Scott Weese (DVM DVSc DipACVIM) is board certified in internal medicine by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and Chief of Infection Control at the Ontario Veterinary College Teaching Hospital. He has an active research program at the University of Guelph focusing on infectious diseases, particularly those that can be transmitted between animals and people. Dr. Weese holds a Canada Research Chair in zoonotic diseases and has authored or co-authored over 200 papers in peer reviewed journals, edited two books, and is a sought-after speaker on the topic of infectious diseases. Dr. Weese is also a coordinator of the educational blog, Worms & Germs, published by University of Guelph Centre for Public Health & Zoonoses. The blog has currently been reporting on the Corona Virus / COVID-19 and pets, keeping its followers up to date on the recent findings and studies.
